Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.)

Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) Program Description

The purpose of the Doctor of Ministry program is to further equip Christian leaders, who have already held a Master of Divinity or its equivalent and had full-time ministry experience for three years or above, in order to enhance the practice of ministry for Christian leaders to engage in ministerial leadership and preaching in a Chinese church context.

Master of Ministry (M.Min.)

Master of Ministry (M.Min.) Program Description

The purpose of the Master of Ministry program is to further equip Christian leaders, who have already held a Bachelor of Theology or its equivalent and had full-time ministry experience for a year or above, in order enhance the practice of ministry for Christian leaders to engage in ministerial leadership and preaching in a Chinese church context in China and/or North America. It will take two years to fulfill the degree requirements. The maximum duration of studies is four years.

Master of Divinity (M.Div.)

Master of Divinity (M.Div.) Program Description

The Master of Divinity (90 credits) program is designed to prepare pastors, church planters, and Christian workers who are able to minister in Canada and around the world. Internships are required in every semester of the program. The program integrates the fundamental biblical-theological-historical foundation with practical pastoral and missional experiences.

Master of Theological Studies (M.T.S.)

Master of Theological Studies (M.T.S.) Program Description

The Master of Theological Studies (60 credits) program is designed to train Christian lay leaders. Through participation in churches, reflection on the Chinese culture, spiritual formation, leadership training, Christian education development and marketplace experience, students will be trained as relevant Christian workers in this generation. A MTS program may take two years to complete.

Diploma in Christian Studies (Dip.C.S.)

Diploma in Christian Studies (Dip.C.S.) Program Description

The Diploma in Christian Studies (30 credits) program integrates biblical, theological and practical disciplines. The program aims to equip brothers and sisters to grow spiritually and serve with confidence. Graduates from this program are eligible to transfer all credits to our M.T.S. or M.Div. program upon approval. Dip.C.S. classes are taught in Mandarin / Cantonese.

Time, Location of classes and language of instruction

Cantonese courses are delivered on the campus of CCST Vancouver or in our partnership churches in the Greater Vancouver area in the evening and/or on Saturday.

Extended Theological Certificate Program

Program description

The extended theological certificate program is delivered in intensive format. It targets at the practical application in different ministerial areas and positions, providing basic biblical and theological training to Christians dedicated to serve in Chinese churches.

Admission requirements

  • Applicants (not auditors) will be requested for pastoral recommendations highlighting the following aspects
    • engagement and dedication to serve in ministries
    • ability and wishes to learn
  • confirmation that the applicant's age must be 20 or above.
  • First time applicants (not auditors) for the certificate program must provide a pastoral reference.

Curriculum

  • The courses of the extended theological certificate program fall into three different areas.
  • Students must complete six courses among the following three areas
  • Biblical foundation - It includes the studies of the whole or a part of the Bible, or certain biblical books and particular topics.
  • Christian theology and Church history - The emphasis is on building up a good understanding of the doctrine of God, Christology, pneumatology, ecclesiology, and eschatology. Church history and significant figures are explored.
  • Practical theology - Students will gain a deeper understanding on calling, spirituality, and ministerial skills. They will be more familiar with the ministries of Chinese churches in local and North American settings. They will be encouraged to discover their roles in church ministries.

Audit Study

Most of our courses offer a few seats for audit students. Applicants are required to submit an audit application form two weeks before the audited course begins. There will be a $20 application fee and $400 audit fee upon submission of the application.
