THEO48
Thinking Theologically for Ministry I

Credit: 3.00
Department: All Masters
Description: This course prepares students for theological studies in the way of reception and conception. Reception is how we take in ideas around us whereas conception is how we construct framework of understanding so that we may have a macroscopic as well as microscopic view of things. It helps us to properly respond to situations at hand and to plan, and in short to operate in a theologically informed way as we are in ministry. Although we aim at learning how to think theologically, we would go beyond just the Bible and theology proper into the lifeworld.
Term Dates: May 11, 2026 - May 15, 2026

THEO49
Thinking Theologically for Ministry II

Credit: 3.00
Department: All Masters
畢德生 (Eugene Peterson),《返璞歸真的牧養藝術》 In order to do theology, we must first become a theological community; for it is through the brother and sister that one comes to God.” “What makes theology practical is not the fitting of orthopedic devices to theoretical concepts in order to make them walk. Rather, theology occurs as a divine partner joins us on our walk, stimulating our reflection and inspiring us to recognize the living Word, as happened to the two walking on the road to Emmaus on the first Easter (Lk 24).” (Ray S. Anderson, The Shape of Pastoral Theology)
