“Toward a Person Theology after a ‘Confucian-Daoist’ Model”

Join Dr. Edwin Lee, Academic Dean and Professor of Systematic Theology at CCST Vancouver, as he presents his latest paper, “Toward a Person Theology after a ‘Confucian-Daoist’ Model.”

The Chinese operational culture according to the “Confucian-Legalist” pragmatic philosophy of social conduct can mask one’s true self-centred intention. Dr. Lee proposes an alternative vision—a “Confucian-Daoist” philosophical model for spiritual exploration—that opens the heart to encounter the Triune God and become a true junzi (君子). The key issue is the understanding of God as Person-subject, while the quasi-subject character of Laozi's Dao points to the possibility of such relating.
